In early 2019, Magpie opened Blue Bird (BLBD), a restaurant in Tapdong, Jeju, where visitors can enjoy various domestic craft beer brands in one place. BLBD is an abbreviation of 'Blue Bird,' meaning 'friend of the magpie.'

The BLBD logo exists as an extension of Magpie. It uses rounded edges and consistent line weights to evoke a similar nuance to Magpie. We considered the characteristics of visitors to the Jeju location. Given the prevalence of families and group gatherings, we sought to express a colorful and bright atmosphere. The result is a vibrant design utilizing red and blue.

2019년 초, 맥파이는 국내의 다양한 수제 맥주 브랜드를 한곳에서 즐길 수 있는 레스토랑 블루버드(BLBD)를 제주도 탑동에 오픈했다. BLBD는 'Blue Bird'의 약자로 '까치의 친구'라는 의미를 담고 있다.

BLBD 로고는 맥파이의 연장선에 있다. 끝이 둥글고 일정한 두께의 선을 사용해 맥파이와 비슷한 뉘앙스를 풍긴다. 제주도 매장을 방문하는 손님들의 특성을 고려했다. 가족 단위, 단체 모임이 많은 만큼 다채롭고 밝은 분위기를 표현하고자 했다. 빨강과 파랑을 활용한 컬러풀한 디자인이 그 결과물이다.
